Lydia & Salvo tie the knot
Lydia & Salvatore tied the knot at the Everyday Champions Church in Newark. Technically they tied the knot in Naples, Italy and then had an additional celebration in Newark, where Lydia hails from.
Salvo and his family party including mum, dad brother and the groomsmen got ready at the Premier Inn. Lydia and the bride’s team prepared at Lydia’s parents home.
An absolute highlight was seeing Lydia’s parents both doing the readings prior to Matt, the Pastor at Everyday Champions, delivering a cracking wedding message, highlighting the joy of relationship and the love of God for his creation, delivered with a belting joke to open – nice one Pastor Matt.
After the ceremony stunning Morris Minor convertible driven by Lydia’s Dad took the happy couple back to the reception. Just at that moment, the heavens opened!
In keeping with the way these two take life on the chin – there was nothing but smiles and laughs over the state of the good old British Summer. The rain continued to fall, we partied on in the marquee erected in the garden.
You always learn something new in this job and this wedding was no exception. Italian weddings have no role for a best man's speech. Imagine that! No tales of the groom’s misadventures on his wedding day! However, it has to be said that Salvo’s best man (assisted by his Salvo's brother's girlfriend) did a belting job of telling us something of Salvo’s past. Great job well done.
Lydia & Salvo - thanks for a great day and we wish you every blessing for your future
